ich möchte Ihnen die Chance bieten auf erklärende Texte zu verzichten und das reine visuelle Erleben der Bilder in den Fokus zu rücken.
Die wenigen Erklärungen entziehen sich dem Rationalen. Junge und gewachsene Positionen der Kunst in Nordrhein-Westfalen.

Kunst in NRW ist ein Video-Magazin über Kunst und Künstler in NRW im Internet, das redaktionell betreut und kontinuierlich aktualisiert wird. Hier wird die Persönlichkeit des Künstlers in den Vordergrund gestellt. Die Kunst als lebender Organismus, eine Einheit aus Mensch und Werk.

Alle Sparten und Genres der bildenden Kunst von Malerei über Fotografie bis zu Videokunst sind auf Kunst in NRW vertreten. Die Künstlerporträts bieten im Überblick biographische Daten, Arbeitsweisen und Motivationen. Diese werden mit Rundgängen durch aktuelle Ausstellungen, Kunst-, Musik-, Film-, und Offtheaterfestivals visualisiert, sowie mit aktuellen Veranstaltungen im Kunstkontext illustriert.

Nach mehreren Jahren Auseinandersetzung mit Videokunst und Film wende ich mich nun mit dem Medium Video der Arbeit anderer Künstler zu. Ich erschließe mir ihre Arbeiten und ihre Persönlichkeit mit der Kamera, um den Zusammenhang zwischen Mensch und Werk zu ergründen.

Auch aus der eigenen Motivation heraus stellt sich mir die Frage zu ihrer Sichtweise auf die Wahrnehmung der Umwelt, welche Einflüsse aus dem Innen und Außen spiegeln sich in den Werken wider. Ist der Standpunkt der Künstlerinnen und Künstler vergleichbar mit dem
der Soziologen, zeichnen sie als sensible Betrachter Ihr Bild der Gesellschaft, auch wenn sie sich scheinbar nur mit Farben, Formen oder anderen Materialien und Medien beschäftigen?

Dear Art Connoisseurs,

I would like to offer you the opportunity to do without explanatory texts and focus solely on the visual experience of the pictures.
The few explanations elude the rational. Young and established positions in the art of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).


"Kunst in NRW" (Art in NRW) is a video magazine on the internet about art and artists in NRW that is editorially overseen and continuously updated. Here, the artist's personality takes centre stage. Art as a living organism; a unity of man and work.

All forms and genres of fine art, from painting to photography, on through to video art are represented in NRW. The artist portraits provide an overview of biographical information, work processes and motivations. These are visualised with tours of current exhibitions, and art, music, film, and theatre festivals, and are illustrated by current events in the arts.

On the editor:
After several years of deep involvement with video art and film, I am now turning to the work of other artists via the medium of video.
I explore their work and their personalities with the camera, in order to discover the interrelationships between man and work.

My own motivation, too, drives me to question their viewpoint on perception of the environment and which internal influences are mirrored externally in the work. Is the viewpoint of the artist comparable to that of the sociologist? Do they, as sensitive observers, paint their picture of society, even if they seem to concern themselves only with colour, form, or other materials?
